The Vidék Kaland ("Rural Adventure") Programme has won the competition for communications programmes related to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) launched by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG-AGRI) to mark the 50th anniversary of the existence of the CAP. The popular programme was launched in 2011by the Hungarian Association of Young Farmers (AGRYA). Communiqué.
118 entries were named in the competition, which could be entered by programmes realised after 2010. The entries were judged by an independent jury, which took into account the programmes' relation to the CAP, evaluated their objectives, communication strategy, the given programme's successful adaptation to the chosen target group and the effects of the programme.
2012 was the second year in which AGRYA had organised the Rural Adventure Programme. The organisation provides young people with opportunities to become involved in the work of farms run by young farmers.
The Rural Adventure Programme will continue in 2013, in addition to Hungary, young people from the city will be able to become acquainted with agriculture not just in Hungary, but also in Slovakia and Romania, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Rural Development.
