Fornetti is an excellent example of Hungarian food exports, as the country's products can be found in over 20 countries, said Minister for Rural Development Sándor Fazekas at the inauguration ceremony of Fornetti Ltd's newly expanded plant in Kiskunfélegyháza, realised with an investment of HUF 1 billion.
The Minister evaluated the expanded plant in Kiskunfélegyháza as the year's largest food industry project, adding that in addition to the use of excellent ingredients, Fornetti's business success lies in the fact that the recipes for its bakery products include years of professional knowledge and respect for the customer, and customers can feel it when something is produced with heart and soul. Consumers today aren't just looking to get full fast when they choose a bakery franchise, but are expressly searching for tasty and healthy food, Minister Fazekas said. According to the Minister for Rural Development, what makes Fornetti products unique among the choice provided by bakery franchises is that it's flavours include Hungarian characteristics. The ingredients for its latest products include lard from Hungarian mangalica pigs, which includes a unique mix of fatty acids, and Jerusalem artichokes with high nutritional value and fibre content.
Mayor of Kiskunfélegyháza Krisztián Kapus highlighted the significance of the fact that the plant expansion has created 50 new jobs, and is indirectly responsible for the creation of 200-300 new workplaces.
Owner of Fornetti Ltd. József Palásti said that of the company's two Hungarian production centres, the one in Kiskunfélegyháza is the first "Fornetti-style" factory. By 2013, it had become possible for the company to follow modern market trends and undertake the reconstruction and expansion of its production equipment that is now capable of creating bakery products that conform to the latest requirements of even the most discerning multinational supermarket chains, and which until now had mainly been available only from imports.
Fornetti Ltd was founded in 1997 in Kecskemét by József Palásti. The number of shops in Hungary belonging to the Fornetti franchise is currently 2200, and including shops abroad Fornetti bakery products are available in some 5000 outlets. In 2012, Fornetti sold 18,642 tonnes of bakery products in Hungary, and some 2 million people around the world eat the company's products each day. The company employs 700 people in Hungary and indirectly provides livelihoods for a total of some 12,000 families.
