The Cabinet has decided on the priority role of the equestrian sector. It was with a view to facilitating the development of the sector that the National Equestrian Programme was launched, which the Hungarian Government is supporting in several ways.

One of the leading responsibilities of the National Equestrian Programme is the development of the National Riding Centre, which provides opportunities for sport and breeding, as well as training for both horses and riders. The National Riding Centre is outdated and needs to be modernised and developed.

The Government has earmarked 2 billion forints for the development of the National Riding Centre within the framework of the National Equestrian Programme. The development of the School, which will be performed according to criteria posed by the equestrian profession, will create the foundations for a European standard international equestrian and knowledge centre.

To ensure that the development and construction deadlines set by the Government for 2014 and 2015 are met, the Government has issued a decree making public authority decisions relating to the development of the National Riding Centre priority matters with regard to the national economy.
