The Ministry of Rural Development invited several foreign diplomats accredited to Hungary to the Vidék Mustra rural agricultural producers' show market on Kossuth Square. Minster for Rural Development Sándor Fazekas and State Secretary Gyula Budai greeted the guests at the event. Ambassadors and diplomats from fifteen countries attended the first such market show, which will be followed by several similar presentations for other diplomatic representatives.

According to Minister for Rural Development Sándor Fazekas, we would like to present and introduce the very best of rural Hungary to diplomats at these events.

Parliamentary State Secretary Gyula Budai spoke of the fact that small producers from all around the country are arriving to show their excellent quality products at the Vidék Mustra market. He also stressed the fact that producers' markets are important contributors to community life.

The Ministry of Rural Development was happy to be the host for the show market, where the flavours and values of rural Hungary congregate in the heart of the city, under the arcade of the Ministry of Rural Development. The Ministry uses all possible measures and resources to support the production and market access of local products, as well as the distribution of high quality, processed Hungarian products. An important goal is that the food chain between producer and consumer become as short as possible.

The Vidék Mustra producers' market is viewed as a great success by the Ministry of Rural Development, as over 20 thousand people have visited the market so far, including many tourists. There is space of over 50 producers at a time to offer their produce under the Ministry's arcades, including many in traditional folk costume. Some ten thousand litres of milk products and one thousand kilograms of meat products from market gardens have been purchased by domestic and foreign visitors since the producers' market was opened in June, much more that originally expected.
