We regret to see that Vice President Reding continues to operate with modified truths regarding the Tobin-case, which is increasingly embarrassing for her.

On Tuesday, 19 March, the spokesperson of Vice President Reding stated at the Commission's midday briefing that the letters sent to her by the Hungarian Government "have all been replied to". The unmodified truth however is that neither the letter dated 13 November, nor the one dated 26 November have been replied to so far, and the same is true for another letter (on a different matter) sent to VP Reding on 14 February 2013. Our informal attempts at discussing these matters with the Vice President have also been refused.
