New Generation Contact Point Office is ready to give essential advices for young people between ages of 12 and 20 regarding career decisions, life management and employment; the institution was handed over this Monday in Szombathely by regional parliamentary representative Csaba Hende, and Dr. Péter Mihalovics, Ministerial Commissioner responsible for the coordination of the Future of New Generation Program.

Mr Mihalovics said that adolescents today face a kind of quarter-life crisis, as they have to make decisions regarding career, learning, employment, family and health as well, which all bare a consequence on their life later on. Colleagues in the office thus are not only merely waiting for clients to come in, but will reach out for young people in high schools, shopping malls, clubs and places of leisure; to inform them the most understandable way about opportunities and available services.

Contact Point Offices organized in county towns try to build upon already existing local networks, assisting the work of teachers and ensuring that young people’s opinions about questions concerning them will get to stakeholders. Mr Hende expressed his hopes this 3 billion HUF which was invested in this program by the government, will become the most flourishing investment in the future. As he said, these offices should work as real public spheres, like forums of the youth. The Government is not entitled to tell anyone anytime, how to live, what to do and what is right; the Government could only raise opportunities. He added that the most what the Government could do for the youth is to present well-paying, stabile jobs.
