There are several serious prospects regarding the area of Hungarian – Chinese relations and Chinese partners show themselves to be very open for opportunities – said Monika Balatoni, Minister of State for Public Diplomacy and Relations of the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice. She negotiates in Shanghai on the occasion of the second Hudec Memorial Week.

This Friday morning, the Minister of State attended a meeting with the President of Shanghai State Radio, Film and Television Monitoring. At the appointment, enhancement of publicity of future Hungarian – Chinese cultural events have been discussed in connection with the large-scale Munkácsy exhibition during the end of the year. The meeting touched upon the development of a mobile application presenting the Hudec heritage of Shanghai, which would familiarize international audience with the body of work of the Hungarian architect in addition to the concerned Chinese.

Minister of State Monika Balatoni emphasized the nature of cooperation between Hungarian and Chinese architects dating back for decades while remembering László Hudec’s work. As Monika Balatoni reminded, like László Hudec was the Hungarian architect of Shanghai during the first half of the last century, so the contemporary generation of young Hungarian architects is present in China: the largest cultural complex of the country in Shenzhen is built with the assistance of Ybl Award-winning Gábor Zoboki and his co-operators, expected to be handed over in May.

The Minister of State said that with the utilization of the legacy of our past it should be achieved that Chinese could interpret Hungarian values of the present. Industries of innovation; cultural and creative design are all great collaboration platforms which will help to fill existing spaces with substance. Furthermore, the Minister of State added that Chinese are very open regarding Hungary and cooperation.

At the Memorial Week started this Tuesday, the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design will debut by representing itself in the Eastern Chinese metropolis with a seven-member professional delegation.
