Legislation and law as an instrument for investment development, as well as issues of economic criminal law were amongst the topics that were discussed on the Budapest Guest Conference of the Saint Petersburg International Legal Forum entitled Legal Protection of Investments in Central Europe and Hungary today. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice of the Government of Hungary and the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.
Minister of State for Justice, Mr. Robert Répássy in his opening speech emphasized the importance of the conference of which the main purpose is to bring together a wide-ranging group of speakers and experts, including representation from the Government of Slovakia, from the Czech and Slovenian private sector, from the Russian academic world and from among Chief Executive Officers of companies which have signed strategic partnership agreements with the Government of Hungary. The themes touched upon questions of legislation and law as an instrument for investment development, as well as issues of economic criminal law.
Répássy said that the conference is a proof of the government’s interest in a dialogue between lawyers, decision makers and policy experts from Russia, Hungary and the countries of Central Europe.
