The Komárom-Esztergom County Government Office released a publication on crime prevention in commemoration of the Day for Victims of Crime, the first title of such in the country, which will be delivered to all households of the county next week. The publication was presented by Tibor Navracsics at a press conference in Tatabanya this Friday.
The Minister of Public Administration and Justice said that "it was one of the fundamental purpose of the administrative reform to see the state appearing for citizens as a service provider and in a form that aligns state actors, or the actions of cooperators of the state".
Tibor Navracsics called the initiative of the government office a pioneering one, as the number of crimes in which perpetrators granted themselves as providers or representatives of authorities have increased recently.
Judit Czunyiné Bertalan, county government officer in charge has said that the small-format color booklet presents the uniforms and ID cards used by utility companies, the post, the staff of law enforcement and health and charity organizations.
Csaba Schmidt, the mayor of Tatabanya added that the booklet encompasses a separate page with suggestions on how to avoid becoming a victim and draws readers' attention to the fact that no one of the organizations listed there ask for cash when they visit customers at their homes.
On the 22nd of February, a number of European countries commemorate the Day for Victims of Crime on the occasion that the Council of Europe published the Charter for Victims of Crime on February 22, 1990. Hungary observes this memorial day since 1993.
