With support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice showcases the results and experiences drawn from the renewal process of the Hungarian public administration. Administrative and state officials of the Sub-Saharan Region’s ten countries were greeted at the House of Hungarians in Budapest by Mr Marcell Biró, State Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice and Mr Péter Wintermantel, Deputy Minister of State for Global Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this Monday.
DownloadMarcell Biró expressed in his welcoming speech, the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice would like to contribute with the best elements of its renewal program to the active process of constitutional, legislative and administrative development that is going on in the Sub-Saharan Region right now and on which the Ministry works for more than three years. The Minister of State expressed his pleasure that the Ministry could cooperate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Africa-specific projects. Furthermore he added it is especially of great joy that joint work comes around elsewhere, part from political and diplomatic relations, out of these cultural and educational relations are very important.
Peter Wintermantel said that in line with the process of Hungarian Global Opening, phrased in the Hungarian Foreign Policy Strategy Document, Hungary is keen to pull closer political, economic and cultural ties with Africa. One of the most important hallmarks of the Global Opening was the first Africa Forum, organized in Hungary last summer. The Minister of State emphasized that one of the main merits of the Forum were the bunch of new initiatives formed by the Government, such as the cooperation with the National University of Public Administration. As an achievement of this relationship, the Minister of State hopes that African students soon will be able to participate in the International Relations program of the University.
DownloadLinks with the Sub-Saharan Region are of great importance regarding the external opening of Hungary. During the event running between 27th and 30th of January, African participants will be able to listen to presentations about the Magyary Zoltán Public Administration Reform Program aimed to renew domestic administration, the reform of regional public administration along with the achievements and good practices regarding Hungarian e-administration, human resources management and the training of administrative professionals. Ten African countries represent themselves on the four-day long field trip, namely Algeria, Angola, The Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Togo and Uganda, all on a ministerial and state secretarial level.
