Zsuzsanna Répás, Deputy State Secretary for Hungarian Communities Abroad of the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice has met with Ibrahim Makolli, the Minister for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo.
Ibrahim Makolli spoke of at the meeting that he considers the Hungarian diaspora model as an exemplary one and this is why it is particularly important for him that he could get information on the matter personally. He emphasized that the maintaining of relations with diaspora compatriots is a vital essence of cultural links, since these relationships are which strengthen their allegiance to the motherland the most.
Ms Répás discussed the current state of the Hungarian diaspora briefly, as the most important steps of the Hungarian government to conserve the strength of relations between members of the diaspora with fellow countrymen. The positive feedback from the diaspora indicates that the work what was started it is on right track. She added that the Hungarian government is always open to similarly useful exchange of experiences.
Both sides expressed their willingness to cooperate further, taking into account the good relations between the two countries. They remarked that they are still open to strengthen these ties both on economic and cultural levels. Regarding all of these, Ibrahim Makolli invited Ms Répás to a personal exchange of experiences in Kosovo.
