Hungary must pursue the goal of drawing young people who have been staying in Europe back to their homeland, Deputy Prime Minister Tibor Navracsics said on Friday.
. Mr Navracsics told a career advisory event in his hometown of Veszprém that the government's New Generation programme will offer youth a comprehensive action plan to help them stay in Hungary.
The government will help families with tax rebates as well as making vocational training more practical and raising standards in secondary and higher education, while making it easier to settle down.
"Young people are encouraged to stay in Hungary or to come home and start a family," he said, adding that many young people go abroad to study or to "try their luck" yet the real question is whether they come home to live a happy adult life here.
