The commemoration programs of the Hungarian Revolution and Independence War of 1848-1849 will set out on 14 March 2014, Friday at 3:00 PM with the handing out of state awards in the Grand Hall of the Parliament, where János Áder, President of Hungary will deliver a welcome speech.

The event will be attended by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and László Kövér, Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary. The festive program will continue on 15 March, Saturday 9:00 AM at the renewed Kossuth Square, where László Kövér will deliver a speech, followed by the raising of the flag of Hungary with military honours.

A procession will head out to the Garden of the National Museum, where a festive program begins at 10:30 AM, with contributions by Tímea Antal, Zoltán Kátai, Ildikó Keresztes, Imre Sípos, Vajk Szente, Katalin Szvorák, László Tolcsvay, Miklós Varga, the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble and the Children’s Choir of the Hungarian Radio from record. A formal speech will be delivered by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

Then the procession will go to the Buda Castle with the participation of traditional riders, where family programs, thematic exhibitions, dance performances, concerts and craft arts will await visitors for free from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
