Austrian Minister of Justice Beatrix Karl, Slovenian State Secretary for Justice Tina Brecelj and Hungarian Minister of State for Justice Róbert Répássy held a meeting in Lendava, Slovenia on Friday. The representatives of the ministries of justice of the three countries held the already traditional meeting about current issues in judicial cooperation at the XXI Pannonian Lawyers’ Days. The agenda included the European Union’s post-2014 Justice and Home Affairs Programme and the approximation of the Austrian, Slovenian and Hungarian positions on the European Public Prosecutor’s Office and the EU Justice Scoreboard. The participants of the meeting were received by Mayor Anton Balazek in his office.
This year, the XXI Pannonian Lawyers’ Day was hosted by Moravske Toplice (Alsómarác), Slovenia. The event was inaugurated by law professor Danilo Türk, former President of the Republic of Slovenia. The audience included Senko Plicanic and Ales Zalar, Slovenia’s former and current Ministers of Justice respectively, and Claudia Bandion-Ortner, Austria’s former Minister of Justice.
Róbert Répássy addressed the professionals at the XXI Pannonian Lawyers’ Day about the link between the new Hungarian Civil Code and the European Union’s law, and about cross-border criminal cooperation.
