The contract of Hungaroring has been extended until 2021 after the signing of an agreement this weekend.
The signing took place between Minister of National Development Zsuzsa Németh and CEO of Formula One Management and Formula One Administration Bernie Ecclestone prior to the start of the 28th Hungarian Grand Prix. Next year, at the request of Mr. Ecclestone, there will be numerous new modifications and developments on the circuit, which has been on the Formula 1 tour since 1986.
According to Hungaroring Sport Corporation Ltd. a record number of visitors attended this year’s Hungarian Grand Prix. 247,000 people visited the track between Thursday and Sunday, while the previous record from 2008 stood at 241,000.
At this year’s race, within the framework of the Hungarian Government’s Erzsébet Camp program, more than three thousand disadvantaged children and young people from all over Hungary had the chance to watch the race.
