Forty-five vehicles with alternative propulsion will compete at the ALTrace Győr 2013 – ALTernative Race on 1 May 2013 in Győr. The chief patron of the event that promotes environmentally friendly modes of transport is Zoltán Schváb, Deputy Minister of State for Transport.
The creative engineering methods and innovative ideas participating in the ALTrace Győr 2013 race can contribute to the promotion of alternative mobility. Keeping with tradition, the vehicles — operating with different technologies (electric, hydrogen, photovoltaic cell, compressed air) and not emitting any pollutants — line up at the start line in several categories.
Almost all Hungarian polytechnic institutions of higher education are represented at the race with at least one vehicle. Following free practice in the morning, the teams complete time trial laps with a flying start. The results determine the starting positions in the afternoon race.
Scientific awareness raising and children’s programmes also await visitors. Detailed information is available on the website of the event: www.altrace.com.
