Existing and future industrial parks are decisive means of employment creation and economic organisation, Minister of National Development Zsuzsa Németh pointed out at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new bays of Völgység Industrial Park in Bonyhád, on 27 March, 2014. Half of the investment costs of almost HUF 1 billion are financed from the New Széchenyi Plan.
“The Industrial Park established in 2010 has been able to attract several new businesses to the region in the past few years so its enlargement is expected to facilitate an upswing of the local economy”, the minister said on occasion of launching the construction of the two up-to-date bays that are to provide a high-quality working environment.
An industrial park has a significant stimulating effect for the economy at the phase of its establishment already, the minister underlined, since several local employees and businesses may join the development processes through the construction. The completed investments in turn bring about a rise in regional trade activity and create new work places, enhancing the population keeping capacity of the settlements concerned.
Industrial parks with up-to-date facilities are integral parts of the Government’s long-term development concept and will have an outstanding role in the reindustrialisation of Hungary, Zsuzsa Németh emphasised in her address.
According to the latest data, there are four thousand businesses operating at the currently existing over two hundred industrial parks in Hungary, employing a total of 180 thousand persons at the national level. The development in Bonyhád creates employment opportunities for the 14 thousand citizens of the town, too. Through the rental of the two new bays, 230 new employees can be recruited to the industrial park in addition to the 500 persons currently employed there.
