Interior Minister Sándor Pintér gave presentation on the necessity and methods of defence against cybercrime at the 15th European Police Congress on Tuesday in Berlin organized by the Behörden Spiegel, Germany’s newspaper for public authorities.

Besides this Sándor Pintér held bilateral discussion with the German Interior Minister Hans-Peter Friedrich.

Hungarian Interior Minister said the Police Congress held in Berlin focused on the fight against terrorism and on the part of Hungary on the protection against cyber attacks.

According to Sándor Pintér Hungary is in a sense a leader in this field. He has recalled that in 2001 twenty-six European and four overseas countries have signed the Council of Europe’s Convention on Cybercrime in Budapest. Last year another meeting was held on this topic in Hungary with the participation of the Ministers of Justice and Internal Affairs on behalf of the United States.

Sándor Pintér held bilateral discussion with the German Interior Minister Hans-Peter Friedrich in Berlin. Ministers had informed each other on the situation relating to the protection of public order in Hungary and in Germany, they had discussed the opportunities for bilateral cooperation along the path designated by the EU and talked about the fight against neo-Nazi groups.
