Interior Minister Sandor Pinter appointed Colonel Laszlo Gobolos to head the Constitution Protection Office (AH), a Hungarian national security service, on Wednesday, the ministry told MTI.

Gobolos is taking over the post from Laszlo Balajti, who asked to be relieved of his post last week. Gobolos, 51, has worked in Hungary's national security services since 1981. AH is mandated to protect Hungary's citizens and constitutional order and guarantee their security.
