Hungary and Vietnam have concluded an agreement on a scholarship programme in Budapest on Monday. The document was signed by Hungary's Minister of State for Higher Education István Klinghammer and Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Education and Training Tran Quang Quy.
The signing ceremony was attended by deputy prime ministers Zsolt Semjén and Nguyen Thien Nhan.
According to the agreement, from 2014 Hungary will grant scholarships to 40 Vietnamese students per year, primarily in the technical and agricultural fields, and will be prepared to receive further, paying ones as well, Minister of State Klinghammer said.
The rectors' conferences of the two countries will organise a roadshow in Vietnam in autumn to present Hungarian universities and colleges, he added.
At present 45 Vietnamese students receive state scholarships in Hungary, while 189 are paying for their studies here, the Minister of State said.
