Minister Balog, who is also responsible for the country’s sports affairs, will travel to London on 3 September for two days. During his stay, he will attend among others the table tennis and swimming contests.

Pál Szekeres (photo: MTI-Tamás Kovács)On 4 September the Minister will also support his colleague Deputy State Secretary for Sports Pál Szekeres, who is participating in the individual fencing competition. Deputy State Secretary Szekeres is a multiple fencing champion, who won a bronze medal at the Seoul Olympics in 1988 and another one at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games. He is the only person in the world to have won a medal at both the Olympics and the Paralympics.

At the XIV Paralympics Games starting today in London, Hungary is represented by a 33-member team.
