Minister of Human Resources Zoltán Balog visited the Pista Dankó Kindergarten, Crèche, Elementary School, Vocational School, Secondary School and Dormitory in Biri, Eastern Hungary. The disadvantaged status of the region causes many problems, and therefore such an institution, which provides education from a young age all the way through to secondary school is essential.

The Minister announced during his official visit that the deadline for the project helping disadvantaged children successfully enter higher education has been extended to April 22, as too few applications have been submitted. The project offers 4 billion forints to secondary schools to organise extra classes in order to enhance their students’ chances of getting into higher education. This can include courses, tutorials, mentor programs, and providing professional support for children who would like to continue studying.
