Minister of Human Resources Zoltán Balog opened the Helsinki Book Fair, at which Hungary is the guest of honour.
The Minister stated that the best instrument to strengthen Finnish-Hungarian friendship is culture, which is the noblest tie since it is not driven by selfish interests.
He emphasised that we can get to know each other better through culture, that is why he is delighted that Hungary has been chosen as this year’s guest of honour. He underlined that the event’s motto “Unkkari lähellä – Hungary is near” is spot on as ties between the two countries are close despite the geographical distance.
