The Hungarian Rowing Association (MESZ) will receive state subsidies of 9.6 billion forints (EUR 32 million) for the 2014-2020 period, Minister of State for Sport István Simicskó announced at a press conference after signing the grant agreement with MESZ President Tamás Regényi.

Mr. Simicskó added that last year the Government had settled the association’s debts of 100 million forints (EUR 333,000) and by the end of this June the MESZ will receive 234 million forints (EUR 7.8 million) in state subsidies as one of the country’s 16 priority sports.

These subsidies will open new avenues for the sport, Mr. Regényi said after the ceremony.
