67 years ago today, one of the most significant composers and pianists of the 20th century, Béla Bartók, passed away.

The artistic achievement of the rightly world-famous composer is of epoch-marking significance not only in European but also in universal terms.

On the eve of the anniversary of his death, the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra performed Bartók’s opera, the Bluebird’s Castle. Today, memorial concerts continue to take place all over the country and outside its borders.

The Ministry of Human Resources welcomes the initiative to commemorate the work of such outstanding individuals. Their achievements may serve as true inspiration for today’s artists all around the world.
