The foreign ministers of the Visegrád Four countries, including Hungary’s János Martonyi, have asked their negotiating partners in Donetsk, Eastern Ukraine, to prevent repeated efforts to resolve the Ukrainian conflict through violence 28 February 2014.

Meeting Donetsk county governor Andriy Schyschatskyi and Donetsk Mayor Oleksandr Lukianchenko, the ministers emphasised that Ukraine’s strength lied in diversity, multiculturalism and the co-existence of several religions.

Meeting businessman Rinat Akhmetov, MP of the Party of Regions, the ministers appreciated that during the demonstrations Akhmetov called for halting violence and preventing bloodshed.
