The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary welcomes that the new government of Lebanon led by Prime Minister Tammam Salam was formed on February 15, 2014, breaking a 11-month political deadlock.
The position of Hungary is that it is particularly important for stability of the Middle East to preserve the unity, the internal peace and security of Lebanon. Hungary ensures its full support to the new Lebanese government in its efforts to tackle the economic, political and security challenges – especially the effects of the Syrian crisis – facing the Republic of Lebanon.
The new government in Lebanon can rely on the achievements of its predecessors in this respect. Hungary wishes a lot of success to the new government of Lebanon, and expresses its intention to further enhance bilateral relations.
