Hungary's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its deep condemnation of serial and brutal attacks by the Syrian authorities against their own citizens.

Many innocent civilians once again died and suffered injuries in a missile attack on several residential districts of Aleppo on February 22. It is our conviction that the international community should take effective steps towards a resolution to the Syrian crisis and in particular to halting the violence.

Hungary had recognised the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces in December last year as the only legitimate representatives of the Syrian people, and remains in contact with the Coalition with a view to extending humanitarian aid and supporting efforts to resolve the crisis together with its international partners.
