The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, taking note of the communication of the Bulgarian authorities on the investigation of the 18th July 2012 Burgas terrorist attack, wishes to reaffirm Hungary’s strong condemnation of any kind of terrorist act, as well as its commitment to resolutely combating terrorism in all of its forms.

It remains our firm position that no reason or ideology must be allowed to justify violent acts perpetrated against innocent, defenceless people. Hungary remains convinced that terrorism can only be countered through coordinated cooperation at all levels. It is in this spirit that we commend the efforts of Bulgaria, our ally and friend, to effectively combat terrorism and declare our firm readiness to continue to cooperate both bilaterally and in multilateral frameworks. in preventing and countering any kind of terrorist threat in the future.
