Zsolt Németh, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, informed Thomas O. Melia, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State at the Department of State, about the consolidation of the new Hungarian constitutional order and the parliamentary elections in 2014, on January 24.

At their meeting the Hungarian State Secretary declared that the Government of Hungary was committed to promoting the integration of the Roma minority and to fighting anti-Semitism. 

The parties discussed the current ’Year of Central Europe’ in the framework of which Hungary takes over the Presidency of the Visegrad Cooperation (V4) as well as of the Central European Initiative (CEI). They exchanged views about political developments in the Eastern European region and about the role of the OSCE in that region. State Secretary Németh also shared his experience regarding his official visit to Mianmar, this January.
