MFA State Secretary Zsolt Németh summoned Russian Ambassador Aleksandr Tolkach to his office on Tuesday and, on behalf of the Hungarian Government, expressed great concern about the current situation on the Crimean Peninsula. Hungary supports Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and feels that the steps taken by Russia violate international law, Mr. Németh said.
The State Secretary called on the Russian party to observe the relevant international agreements with respect to Ukraine and to instruct its units to return to within the confines of the Russian bases in the Crimea.
Hungary regards only a peaceful and non-violent resolution as acceptable, and is accordingly urging for immediate talks aimed at resolving the crisis in Crimea with the inclusion of all parties in question, the Hungarian State Secretary stated.
