Iván Bába, Administrative State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Peter Weiss, Ambassador of Slovakia in Hungary, opened an exhibition entitled „Visegrad Through My Eyes” in the building of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 14 November 2012.
The exhibition displays the photos of four renowned artists: Magdalena Ciszewska Rzasa from Poland, Zsuzsanna Kemenesi form Hungary, Robo Kočan from Slovakia and David Cysař from the Czech Republic. The photographers present their vision on the Visegrad region.
The Hungarian State Secretary stressed in his opening remarks that the Visegrad cooperation had become a reliable brand for mutual trust and hospitality. He asserted that the common past of the V4 countries required that they raise their voice against exclusion and also respect national traditions. Iván Bába characterized the V4 group as a meeting point of culture, solidarity and tolerance. He added that these values will be the cornerstones of Hungary’s upcoming presidencies of the Central European Initiative and of the Visegrad Group. State Secretary Iván Bába declared that the work of civilians constitutes one of the most vivid colors in the palette of the Visegrad cooperation. Artists, students, teachers and scholars have added a new and increasingly important dimension to the V4 in recent years. Their work is an excellent tool to fill in the gaps and make the V4 formation even more vibrant.
Ambassador Peter Weiss emphasized the significance of the Visegrad cooperation and pointed out how it facilitated the Euro-Atlantic integration of the V4 countries. He also noted that owing to the success of the past twenty years, the Visegrad Group has become a model for regional cooperation. Peter Weiss stated that the exhibition opened in the building of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry was a positive example for the promotion of art under the aegis of V4 cooperation, which is a good way of understanding and deepening the cooperation among the V4 countries.
