Deputy State Secretary Péter Wintermantel hosted outgoing Ambassador Gauri Shankar Gupta at a farewell lunch on 26 August 2013. Ambassador Gupta took up his post in Budapest in 2010, and will be leaving for India at the end of this month.

The Hungarian Deputy State Secretary said that Ambassador Gupta had done a remarkable job in fostering bilateral relations, and the visit paid by Indian Foreign Minister Salman Kurshid to Hungary this July should be particularly emphasised. It was during his stay in Budapest that Ambassador Gupta published his latest book, Unravelling Mysteries of Life, both in English and Hungarian.
