Zsolt Németh, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, claimed that NATO Partnership for Peace (PfP) was beneficial because it contributed to achieving the goals of the Allaince as well as to promoting security.
The Hungarian Parliamentary State Secretary declared at the NATO-conference hosted by Parliament on November 22 that collaborating with PfP partners was not exceptional but became the rule in NATO operations since it had been recognized that globall challenges could be tackled only in close cooperation with partners.
State Secretary Németh stated that NATO Partnership for Peace was also beneficial because it was conducive to the development of a common „security culture”, so the participating countries could cope with the emerging threats more efficiently. He recalled that it was the PfP that paved the way for Hungary to become a member of the Alliance among the first countries in the Central European region.
