Deputy State Secretary for International Communications at the Prime Minister’s Office Ferenc Kumin and Parliamentary State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zsolt Németh met with Director of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies on 4 December.

During the meeting in the Parliament Building, Deputy State Secretary Kumin reinforced the Government’s commitment to fight anti-Semitism, while State Secretary Németh informed Mr. Shapiro about the significance and main events of the Wallenberg Year and presented him with a book on the life of Count János Esterházy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Shapiro suggested the establishment of a historical committee to process the history of the Holocaust in Hungary, the stronger promotion of the Hungarian Holocaust Memorial Center’s activities, and emphasized the significance of clear statements made against political comments outside the framework of morality and democracy.
