There are always new challenges in the European Union, in addition to the old dilemmas - Foreign Minister János Martonyi declared in the Hungarian Parliament on Thursday when the winners of the competition entitled ”Hungary in the European Union, the European Union in the World” were announced.
At the award ceremony János Martonyi stressed that European integration as such had constantly been changing, so it was useful to invite applications for this competition each year. Though the old dilemmas of EU integration still remain, there are always new challenges.
The Hungarian Foreign Minister stated that the professional quality of the submitted papers had been improving, which indicated that EU studies had gained a solid foundation and the papers demonstrated high professional knowledge.
Most of the applicants are students of law or international administration, and the majority of papers were sent from the University of Miskolc and the University of Debrecen. István Kiss, a student at the University of Debrecen, was awarded the first prize of the competition.
