The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Hungary’s diplomatic missions are monitoring developments in Ukraine but none of them have proposed suspending preparations for the April general parliamentary election, the head of the Ministry's Press Department said on 19 February 2014.
As safety of voters is a primary concern, there will be no vote on four of Hungary’s foreign missions outside Europe, Gábor Kaleta said. The four offices concerned are operating in Damascus, Kabul, Baghdad, and Ramallah.
The Hungarian embassy in Kiev, the consulate general in Ungvár (Uzhhorod) and the consulate in Beregszász (Berehevo) are monitoring the situation in Ukraine and keep informing the Hungarian public on it, he said.
