The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary was deeply saddened by the news of the Boston explosions. There cannot be any acceptable justification for this disgraceful attack against the participants and spectators of a popular sporting event. We would like to express our sympathy to the relatives of the victims and we wish those injured a rapid recovery.
Given the circumstances of the incident, it is conceivable that the explosion at the Boston Marathon was a planned terrorist attack. Hungary firmly condemns all forms of terrorism and, as an ally of the United States, remains committed to continuing the struggle against terrorism.
