On 16 January 2012, the Foreign Ministry’s Deputy State Secretary for EU Bilateral Relations, Press and Cultural Diplomacy Gergely Prőhle met leaders of the Foreign Ministry, the Parliament, the churches, and representatives of the press in London, and participated in the Embassy’s dinner in honour of Count János Esterházy.

Gergely Prőhle consulted about current issues with his partner from the British Foreign Ministry, Simon Manley, the Director responsible for EU and bilateral relations; with Lord Roper, Chairman of the House of Lords EU Select Committee; with Sruti Dharma Das, leader of the Hindu Church of Great-Britain; and with Richard Burge, leader of Wilton Park, a foreign policy research centre.

The Esterházy-dinner given by the Hungarian Embassy in London was organised on the occasion that the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) posthumously awarded Count János Esterházy the Jan Karski Courage to Care Award on 3 November 2011. Besides members of the Esterházy-Malfatti family, promoters of inter-church dialogue, British opinion leaders, and representatives of the media and the churches participated in the dinner.
