Péter Sztáray, Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs consulted with Under-Secretary General for Political Affairs of the Ministry of External Relations of Brazil Vera Lúcia Barrouin Machado in Budapest on March 19.

Both parties highlighted the recent significant developments in bilateral political and economic relations, high-level visits and the dynamic increase in bilateral trade. They noted that cooperation which has begun between our countries within the fields of agriculture, higher education and science & technology is developing encouraging perspectives.

Among the international issues, they reviewed the situation in the Middle East and in the Western Balkans, developments in EU financial crisis management and the issue of UN reform. With respect to security policy issues, Deputy State Secretary Péter Sztáray shared the experience of the 2012 Budapest Cyber Space Conference and urged for the participation of Brazil at the Global Water Management Conference to be held in Budapest in October.
