Szabolcs Takács, Deputy State Secretary for Global Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had meetings with high-level officials in Manila, Philippines.

In his talks with José Brillantes, Deputy Foreign Minister for Transnational Affairs, the Hungarian Deputy State Secretary presented the country’s policy for „global opening” and assured his partner that Hungary would find a solution for re-opening its Embassy, which was closed down in 1995. They also discussed issues related to disaster relief, water management and sanitation.

Deputy State Secretary Takács later met with Mary Harriet O. Abordo, Deputy Director General of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority, and discussed bilateral cooperation in trade and investment.

He also held talks with Secretary Robert Dawson at the headquarters of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and informed his partner that Hungary was considering to join the ADB in order to create more opportunities for Hungarian enterprises in Asian business life.
