Hungary is calling for an effective political dialogue to start between Ukraine's government and the opposition to resolve the crisis, the Foreign Ministry's Deputy State Secretary for Security Policy Szabolcs Takács stated on Wednesday. He declared that Hungary condemned all forms of violence.
It is too early to say who was responsible for the casualties on Tuesday, Mr Takács said, stressing the need for further investigation. Political responsibility equally lies with the government and some opposition leaders but the government always has broader possibilities for action, he added.
Hungary is calling for a political dialogue to prevent the escalation of violence and hopes that the situation can be resolved in the short term, the Hungarian Deputy State Secretary for Security Policy said. Defence Ministry Deputy State Secretary Péter Siklósi said that Hungarian authorities have prepared for all contingencies, including a possible wave of refugees from Ukraine.
