The Inter-sessional Implementation Meeting and the New and Evolving Technologies Technical Experts Meeting of the Australia Group (AG), as well as an AG Dialogue Meeting with the participation of 100 experts, takes place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 18 to 22 November. For the first time in the history of the inter-sessional meetings, the AG will be especially devoted to dialogue with countries outside the group.
The Australia Group is a cooperative group of 42 members working on a voluntary basis to counter the spread of technologies and materials that may facilitate the development or acquisition of chemical and biological weapons. By co-ordinating their national export control measures, Australia Group participants strive to fulfil their obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention and the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention to the fullest extent possible.
Hungary was the first former socialist country to become a member of the Australia Group in 1992. The Hungarian export control policy and implementation is widely recognised by both partners and allies.
