War hero warrant officer György Kolozsvári was promoted to posthumous second lieutenant by Minister of Defence Csaba Hende at the welcoming ceremony of the 8th rotation of HDF PRT on 7th of September. The soldier on mission had suffered serious injuries on 23rd August during the Afghanistan mission and died on the day of his comrades’ welcoming ceremony in ‘Honvéd’ Hospital.
Warrant officer György Kolozsvári who suffered life-threatening injuries in an Afghanistan attack died in hospital on Tuesday morning, September 7, 2010. His life could not have been saved despite that he was under the most intensive medical treatment.

Second-Lieutenant Judit Ábrahám war heroine killed in action in Afghanistan on 23rd of August, was buried in her home village, Alacska, on Monday afternoon.
Mrs Judit Ábrahám Papp was 23 years old when she lost her life in Afghanistan on Monday. Posthumously the Army promoted her from the rank of Technical Sergeant to the rank of Lieutenant and classified her death as honourable.

The troops are ready to conduct peacekeeping operations, resolve the crisis, maintain stability and sustain necessary development in the Balkans.” Lieut. Gen. László Kanyó said in his ceremonial speech.
Best known for her role in the WWI Lajta Monitor currently has a dual role as the flagship of the HDF 1st Honvéd Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Warship Battalion and as a living museum.

In the presence of relatives and family members Lieutenant General Tibor Benkő bade farewell to the HDF 86th Air Mentor Team (AMT) in the Community Centre of the Szolnok Helicopter Base. The team consisting of 10 soldiers starts its service on 25th August 2010.
