The superior ordered in June the companies of the Multinational Battalion (MNBN), the maneuver element of EUFOR to practice Crowd Disturbance Operations (CDO) using crowd riot control (CRC) techniques.
Together with the other companies of the MNBN, the Hungarian maneuver company (H-Coy) demonstrated its readiness to the commander of the battalion on the exercise WHITE KING that took place in Tuzla between June 18 and 21.
During the first day of the exercise, the H-Coy redeployed to Tuzla and occupied its designated area, then started training for the execution of the tasks. On the morning of the second day, the medical personnel carried out a MEDEVAC mission with helicopter, after which the company practiced event security and special CRC techniques. On the third day of the exercise the battalion was deployed to secure a fictitious event, during which it had to reinforce the local forces. The last task was a rescue operation after a simulated helicopter accident.
In his after action review, the commander of the MNBN said that the aim of simulating the helicopter accident had been to make the soldiers learn that they may encounter unexpected situations anywhere any time. He closed his assessment by saying that he was satisfied with what he had seen.
