At the press conference held following the V4 Defence Ministers meeting in Levoča, Slovakia participants approved a proposal to set up a joint V4 EU battle group.

At the press conference held following the V4 Defence Ministers meeting Minister of Defence of the Slovakian Republic Lubomir Galko said the participants agreed to set up a joint V4 EU battle group by 2016. We intend to enhance interoperability within Euro Atlantic community through regional cooperation, Minister of Defence of the Hungarian Republic Csaba Hende emphasized at the press conference. He added: Hungary strongly supports the forming of a joint V4 EU battle group.

The Visegrád Four (V4) is an alliance of four Central European states – the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia – for the purposes of cooperation and furthering European integration. All four countries are EU and NATO member states.
