Upon the advice of the Minister of Defence appointments have been presented by the President of the Hungarian Republic, Pál Schmitt at the Sándor Palace.

Minister of Defence Csaba Hende, Administrative State Secretary Lajos Fodor, General Dr Tibor Benkő, Chief of Defence Staff of the HDF and President of the Defence and Law Enforcement Committee, Dr Máté Kocsis participated in the event held in Budapest on March 4.

Major General Zoltán Orosz, Deputy Chief of the HDF Defence Staff has been promoted to Lieutenant General. The Head of State promoted Brigadier General László Domján, Director General of the Military Security Office (MSO) of the Republic of Hungary to Major General. Colonel Eng. József Négyesi Deputy Director General, Military Intelligence Office (MIO) has been promoted to Brigadier General Eng., while Colonel Zsolt Sándor Commander of HDF 25th György Klapka Infantry Brigade to Brigadier General.

The instruments of appointment have been handed over by the President of the Hungarian Republic, Pál Schmitt on the occasion of the approaching national holiday.
The appointments will take effect on March 15.
