A command handover ceremony of the Romanian-Hungarian Joint Peacekeeping Battalion was held in Hódmezővásárhely on November 17. The 3rd ‘Mikós Bercsényi’ Infantry Battalion of the 5th ‘István Bocskai’ Infantry Brigade lined up at the square of Miklós Zrínyi barracks in Hódmezővásárhely.

The ceremony was attended by Brig. Gen. Gábor Böröndi, Commander of István Bocskai Infantry Brigade and Brig. Gen. George Simina, Commander of the 18th ’BANAT’ Infantry Brigade. The command has been handed over to Lieut. Col. László Fábián by Lieut.Col. Iulian Daniliuc. He is to lead the joint peacekeeping battalion till November 2011. In his speech General Gheorge Simina highlighted that the joint battalion had been doing an outstanding job since its establishment in 1998. He said that a professional and friendly relationship had been formed between the command and the staff. Brig. Gen. Gábor Böröndi said that that at the ceremony held in Romania the Defence Minister of Romania assured the Hungarian party to maintain cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
At the conclusion of the handover ceremony a planning conference has been held where the main events of the following training year have been defined.
