Labour-based economy is the key to the revival of Hungary, emphasised Minister of Defence Mr Csaba Hende, the Member of Parliament of the region at the opening of the training workshop of EPCOS Electronics Ltd. in Szombathely on Thursday.

In his opinion anybody who wants to work can rely on the government of Hungary and similar support is provided to those who – like EPCOS Electronics Ltd. – create jobs with commitment to young people.

Mr Hende emphasised that the present development fits into the series of efforts within the framework of Western-Pannon Automobile Industry and Mechatronics Centre initiated and established by EPCOS Electronics Ltd. inter alia.

Mr Hende also mentioned that not only vocational training but also higher education is to be developed in dual structure that is with the involvement of close cooperation with local industry and that is the reason of launching mechanical engineer training in Savaria University Centre of the Western Hungarian University in September 2015.

He said it is a tremendous effort to establish technical higher education from scratch.

Mr Hende declared that the University with the Western-Pannon Automobile Industry and Mechatronics Centre applied for European Union resources in the framework of a joint consortium aimed at the funding of engineer training.

The Minister of Defence also said that this was not the first opening event as in the past weeks there had been other training workshops created by LUK and Jabil opened in Szombathely.

At the opening ceremony Acting Director of EPCOS Ltd. Mr Balázs Takács said that in the specially equipped mechanic, mechatronic, and electronic training workshop experts would be prepared who would have not only theoretical knowledge but also those particular practical skills which are necessary for the company.

At the inauguration Szombathely Mayor Mr Tivadar Puskás (FIDESZ-CDPP) said: the opening of the training base of a factory is a clear indication of the fact that the company trusts in the future and wishes to take care of the replacement of its qualified experts.
