Vice-Admiral Dragan Samardzic is staying in Hungary on a three-day official visit. Brig.-Gen. László Szabó, the Chief of the MoD Defence Staff Training Directorate received the Chief of the General Staff of the Montenegrin Armed Forces at the Budapest “Ferenc Liszt” International Airport on June 24.
The high-ranking guest and his entourage were received with military honors in the Lehel St compound of the Ministry of Defence on June 25. In what followed, the Montenegrin delegation laid a wreath at the heroes’ memorial in Heroes’ Square.
The program of the visit continued with closed-door discussions between Vice-Admiral Samardzic and Gen. Dr. Tibor Benkő, the Chief of the Defence Staff. Afterwards, at a plenary session, the two partners explored the further possibilities of Montenegro’s participation, in the light of NATO’s changing role in the future of Afghanistan. The Hungarian partner provided Vice-Admiral Samardzic with detailed information about the experiences of a recent visit to the region.
Before the return home on June 26, Dr. István Simicskó, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence receives the Montenegrin Chief of Defence on an office call.
